Kelly Clarkson has signed a new deal with Atlantic Records, leaving RCA behind.

RCA

RCA had been her home since her American Idol win, but the journey with them has been rocky. In the announcement of the news, she refers to RCA as an “arranged marriage”.

Both Kelly and Atlantic Records showed they’re looking forward to their collaboration.

New Album

With Atlantic Records, Kelly is planning a long career and a return to the R&B and soul music she started to do during her breakthrough. She’s already started working on a new album, which is due out in 2017.

To celebrate the new era in her career, she’s released a four cover songs, which fans had the opportunity to request.

Writing

The move to Atlantic is not the only new things happening for Kelly. In October, she’ll also embark on a completely new genre. Her first children’s book will be released. It’s called “River Rose”
