Craig David

In 2000 he was the one to watch. With his debut album “Born To Do It” he brought a little bit of Garage to R&B and won the hearts of many music lovers. His delivery was something fresh and his songs like “Fill Me In”, “7 Days” and “Walkin Away” took control of the charts. Success continued worldwide until he signed with a major in 2005. From that moment only the UK continued to show interest.

Though David has always remained true to his signature silky smooth, slicker than your average-R&B sound, there has been a change in the tides. Smooth sould just doesn’t reach the commercial success like it did before.

So just like everyone else, David also turned to the sound that was hot and happening in the charts, but therefor losing the fresh sound he was known for himself:

Behind the scenes David continued to collaborate with various artists ranging from Rita Ora, Ryan Leslie to the Backstreet Boys and there have been many rumours of a new album, but nothing’s been released since 2010. But it was just last week that he got back in the picture after appearing on the Kurupt FM’s Takeover and freestyled “Fill Me In” over Justin Bieber’s “Where Are U now”.  During the show he mentioned he’s back in the studio to record music the way he did before, just for the fun of it. Since his appearance on the show, it’s buzzing rumours that he’s now back in the zone to finally release some new music of his own.
