Kylie Minogue will release her Christmas single today to lead her upcoming “Christmas” album. Her duet with actor James Corden, called “Only You”, has been selected as the single.

“Only You” was originally recorded by Yazoo in 1982. The song was intended for Depeche Mode, but when Chris Clarke teamed up with Alison Moyet to form Yazoo the song was used to launch the duo instead. It was their breakthrough hit in Europe as well as the States.

For Kylie Minogue, it seems like a logical next song, after her collaboration with Nervo was released just a little over a week ago. The Nervo track also reminded you of the 80s and it has been mentioned to provide a strong Depeche Mode reminder.

It’s also nice that Kylie didn’t choose to go for one of the traditional Christmas tracks.
