Two of Ireland’s biggest boybands have joined forces to start touring as the newest supergroup. Well, sort of. Boyzlife features members of Boyzone and Westlife, but it’s not as big of a supergroup as you would expect.
Both boybands used to have five members each, but Boyzlife will only be a duo formed by Boyzone’s Keith Duffy and Westlife’s Brian McFadden.
Boyzlife Tour
The two will be a solid base for a short 12 date UK tour booked by Hilton Hotels, while they don’t rule out that any other former band members may be joining them here and there.
Their shows will be a mix of music, stories and laughs, apparently. Tickets will go on sale on March 8th.
Boyzone
Boyzone had their European breakthrough with “Love Me For A Reason”. They went on to sell over 25 million records, which made them one of the most popular Irish bands. Member Stephen Gately died suddenly in 2009, but other members have tried building up solo career after Boyzone.
Westlife
Boyzone’s Ronan Keating actually co-managed Westlife with Boyzone’s own manager. This caused the band to break through. They went on to sell 50 million records and got to duet Mariah Carey.
Boyzlife
There already was a tribute band for Westlife and Boyzone working under the name Boyzlife. Yikes!
