Adele’s upcoming album release spike US sales of “21”

Adele’s US album sales of her last album “21” spiked in the week rumours of a new album getting a November release were the strongest.

In the last week of August the album sold an additional 2,000 copies, making it the 10th biggest selling album in the US since Nielsen Music has been monitoring sales. The album has now sold a total of 11.17 million copies. Together with her debut album the number of sales reach over a whopping 14 million albums in the US alone.  Worldwide “21” has sold an estimated 30 million copies and is certified diamond. Her debut album “19” sold 10 million worldwide.

In the meantime, Sia revealed that her new single “Alive” was co-written by Adele and originally intended for Adele’s new album. However, Adele turned the track down at the very last minute and Sia has decided to release it as the first single of her new album.
