Sam Smith remixes
While yesterday Sam Smith was still playing with the rumour that he was doing the new Bond theme, by posting a photo with the Spectre logo on his ring, it is now confirmed. The song is called “Writing On The Wall” and will be released a month before the movie comes out. For Europe the song will be released on September 25th and in the US November 6th. It is already available for preorder on his website and on iTunes.
Bookmakers in the UK were betting on Radiohead to get the Bond theme and Ellie Goulding was also named a candidate. Smith himself got the news in January and wrote the song in 20 minutes, after reading the script. It’s written in collaboration with Jimmy Napes, with whom he also wrote “Stay With Me”.
It’s the first time since 1965 that a male solo artist is doing a Bond theme again.
