Olly Murs first caught my attention with his retro sound. Many of his songs will always remind me of something else. For instance, “Heart Skips A Beat” reminds me of old, late 80s, Hip Hop tracks or dance songs with that influence (Soul II Soul for instance) and as for “Troublemaker”, well, I just thought it was a Maroon 5 song the first few times I heard that.
More recently, I’d already heard that Olly had released a new song, “You Don’t Know Love”, but two days ago, he’d released the official video for it. There is a risk he took with this video, because the sea shore intro is a little bit too long for my taste and, if I weren’t curious for the track, I would’ve clicked away and skipped his track. I’m glad I didn’t though.
