John Mayer fed the rumors about his never ending crush on Katy Perry, and their on-off relationship, with the release of his latest jam, “Still Feel Like Your Man” and the admission that this, indeed, is about Katy Perry. Luckily, he didn’t play into this even further with the video for this song and pull a Justin Timberlake, who put a Britney Spears look-a-like in his video when he had something to say about their romance. Instead, John decided to create a bit of a dance video for it, with dancing pandas. I just thought I’d warn you about that ahead of time.
To my recollection , I actually never saw a John Mayer video before. I only know what he looks like from the slew of famous women he dated and seeing those pictures, but I considered him to be a serious musician with a soul sound, so I expected the club setting and such, but the dancing and the pandas really got me confused now.
Anyway, putting that aside, the song itself is a soulful jam based around the electric piano, a catchy bass line and the electric guitar for some nice, and much needed, accents. The song picks up the pace in the chorus with the smooth vocal harmonies completing its sound. It’s a perfect song for a lazy Sunday morning.
