With the approval from Whitney’s family, the documentary can call itself the official documentary from here on in. The official title is not yet known, even though it had the working title “The Voice”, while they were working on it.

The movie is directed by Kevin McDonald, who won an Academy Award for “One Day In September” (2000). The team behind “Amy”, the biopic about Amy Winehouse, will be presenting the movie in Cannes alongside their own new project.

Interviews With People Close To Her

It’s the first time that the family has approved a documentary since Whitney’s death in 2012. It will take a look at all parts of Whitney’s life, both the highs and lows. Well-known people, who were close to the singer, will be interviewed.  This is sure to include Clive Davis, who discovered Whitney in her teens.

Kevin McDonald has indicated that he wants people to leave the movies feeling positive about Whitney and be reminded of her great talent.

Just a reminder, Whitney Houston sold over 180 million records worldwide and influenced many of today’s female singers.
