The Rolling Stones give Cuba full satisfaction

Published March 26th 2016

The Rolling Stones have performed in Cuba last night for the first time ever. Recently, a ban of rock music,  implemented in 1959, was lifted, making this historic free concert possible.

In order to get good spots, fans started flocking to the venue a good 18 hours in advance. Altogether, it’s estimated that 500,000 people showed up for the concert, though no official count has been given so far.

Immediately after the concert, only good reviews about the show have been published. After all, it’s The Stones and this concert was bound to be epic for it’s historic value. For the country, this is one of the two historic events that mark a huge change for the country (with the first being a visit from US President Barack Obama last week).

The band’s set list included all of their biggest hits. Despite the band’s start in 1962 and the ban having been in place for most of their career, Cubans secretly listened and were fully able to sing along with most of the songs.

The band’s visit to the country was closely followed by news outlets, from the moment they had landed.
