The Corrs

At the end of the 90s and early 2000’s they charted with hits like “What Can I Do”, their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams”, “Run away” and “Breathless”. In between a mix of house music and smooth R&B, which had become mainstream in Europe, brother and 3 sisters Corr brought a little romance to the radio. Their recognizable sound blended Irish folk music, perfect vocal harmonies and a little bit of dance together and they ended up selling 30 million records. Two Grammy nominations followed as well as a lot of rumours of who front singer Andrea may or may not be dating. So when success across Europe slowed down, so did the band. A cool 10 years ago!

During the hiatus Caroline and Jim went back to normal life with kids to raise. Andrea tried her hand at acting and eventually released solo albums. Sharon initially also went solo, but ended up breaking other talents as a coach on The Voice of Ireland.

Last weekend though, The Corrs took to stage in London for BBC Radio 2. It was the first time since their break and the family band had been reheasring for it since June! During the performance The Corrs announced a second gig this year, a new tour next year and a new album “White Light” to be released on November 27th.
