Adam Levine, lead singer in Maroon 5 and coach on The Voice, also has a production company called 222 Productions. With this company he has pitched all kinds of TV concepts. For instance, earlier this year, he pitched the idea for a talent show for songwriters called “Songland” and actually got to make a pilot and he had plans to do a musical TV series called “The 1970s”, but so far none of these ideas have really seen the light of day, or rather, the light of the TV screens.

Now, however, he’s getting another chance at it with a new TV show concept based on one of the last Maroon 5 videos. In “Sugar” Maroon 5 are just driving around LA with one mission: Crash as many weddings as they can and play. And yes, the weddings and reactions are real.

This wedding crasher concept has been used  for several movies like the, surprisingly, titled “Wedding Crashers”, so director David Dobkin, who directed the film and the “Sugar” video, and Levine have worked out the idea in depth for a TV show.

The show does not have a name yet, but NBC has ordered the making of a pilot.

The idea is to have all kinds of celebrities crash their nonsuspecting fans’ weddings, but the pilot will also feature a prominent actor surprising someone at their batchelorette party. I can’t help but think Channing Tatum would be ideal for the latter and oh, remember that Beyonce and Jay Z are also experienced wedding crashers, but that’s just a thought.
