LL Cool J plans comeback from retirement of one minute

LL Cool J has had a major impact on hip hop music in his hay day. He was the first to record a rap ballad and bring a softer, romantic side to the gritty genre at the time. Others would soon follow his lead.

LL Cool J, The Actor

Nowadays, most people might know him mainly from his acting career, but he has announced plans to drop another album. His last album was released in 2013 and there’s been talk of a new album ever since called G.O.A.T 2, meaning Greatest Of All Time.

Dr Dre Collaboration

At the end of last week, he even uploaded a video to Facebook of him collaborating with Dr. Dre.

And Then He Quits

To everyone’s surprise though, LL Cool J announced his retirement from music on Twitter yesterday, to delete the tweets and immediately announce the new album.

In an interview with Billboard, he’s explained that he’s put G.O.A.T. 2 on hold, but is working on another project instead. However, he’s mum the word about why he announced a retirement in the first place. Maybe it was just to get the lips moving about him again…
