After winning the copyright infringement case against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams, the Gaye family appear now to be set on going after the involved record companies, UMG and Interscope, and artist T.I.  The Marvin Gaye estate believes there is no difference between the infringement done by the creators as done by those who distributed the song.

For music fans, this could mean, that if you want to get the song, you may want to get it soon as distribution of it might come to a full stop if the Gaye family wins.

This case is probably the most talked about copyright cases as it’s impact could be large on the music industry. Not just because it’s one of the biggest hit songs of this past year or so, but also because a lot of creators look to musical greatness from the past to create today’s sound.
