Jason Derulo recently let it slip in an interview with Digital Spy, that he actually thought “Want To Want Me” wasn’t a hit song. In fact, he didn’t even want to record it himself and tried to pass it on to another singer.
It’s not the first time that a famous singer doesn’t see the hit potential of his own song. That just goes to show, that no one can really predict how something will pan out. I’m glad we can still surprise musicians. Luckily, there are always others who will point out you are wrong.
The song was then even chosen as the lead single of his new album and actually reached number one in 6 fdifferent countries! The album, “Everything in 4” came and went in the charts in various countries, even though it had major celebrities featuring on it, like Meghan Trainor and Stevie Wonder.
His song with Jennifer Lopez, also from the album, is next up for release and Jason is also the first act confirmed for Capitol FM’s Christmas Bell Ball event in London early december.
Whether Jason’s plans for the next few months will change is all down to a court case though. Apparently, a wild birthday party could mean jail time for him.
