Erykah Badu is to write the music for an animated series called “Legends of Chamberlain Heights” that will air on Comedy Central in the fall. It’s the first time the singer is scoring a TV series, who revealed in an interview with the New Yorker she had to audition for the job.
Animated Series With A Staff Link To The Simpsons
The animated series is a comedy about three high school freshman, that will also be illustrated by Brad Ableson, who’s worked on The Simpsons previously.
Initially, 10 episodes are being made, but already, there are options on a second season.
Erykah Badu Scores the Series
Erykah has probably already been working on the project for some time, receiving bits and pieces of animation to draw inspiration from and look for the right musicians to work with.
The show will hit TV screens in September.
