It’s like Craig David’s career had a bit of a boost since his appearance on the radio, where he freestyled over a beat that was given. Since, he’s released various new tracks and seems to back at the top of his garage game.

Craig David fills up dance floors again

Craig David Was Born To Do It

It doesn’t feel like that long ago when Craig David was taking over the charts with hits like “Fill Me In” and “Rendezvous”, which crossed over dubstep and garage to mainstream. But it’s been 15 years already when his “Born To Do It” album became a worldwide success, selling 13 million records. In short, he was cool, cute and fresh, but disappeared nevertheless.

Bodybuilding

He took the time away from the limelight to completely revamp his lifestyle and actually start a second career in bodybuilding. And just when I started to wonder, whether he was still making music, he showed up and did his thing on the radio.

Freestyling And Covers

Then, a few months after his freestyle moment, he covered Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” and Little Mix/Jason Derulo’s “Secret Love Song” on various radio shows, which again brought the spotlight to him. It looks like that was the last push it needed.

New Vevo Uploads

Two months ago, he started filling up us Vevo channel. At first with performances of his biggest hits, but about a month ago he started uploading a new collaboration, that’s been filling up dancefloors ever since.

Big Narstie

His official video for “When the Bassline Drops”, with Big Narstie, has been viewed over 1 million times, but even remixes are doing extremely well, with Todd Terry’s remix taking the lead with 17 million views. There’s no doubting it, even if you wanted it to, Craig David is back.

Major Lazer And Katy B

And now things can only get better. So, just two weeks ago, his collaboration with Katy B and Major Lazer was also released. The, pretty laidback, duet is called “Who Am I” and mixes the typical Major Lazer sound with the typical lyric delivery that Craig David is known for.

New Music

New music seems to already been on its way, because DJ Fresh has already spoken out about their collaboration.
