Chaka Khan has announced a new single, alongside with a video contest.
Chaka Khan’s I Love Myself Campaign
On February 19th, she’ll release the song “I Love Myself”, which is all about accepting yourself, including your flaws, beauty, and the things others could have a hard time with. The message is not to have that affect your self-esteem and she’s looking for people, who understand exactly that.
Video Contest
For her video, Chaka has invited people to film themselves lip-synching to the song’s chorus and send her the footage. The winners of her contest will be featured in her video for the song. You’ll only need to provide her with one minute of you lip-syncing.
Part Of The Proceeds Will Help Charities
In an interview with Billboard magazine, she explains why she feels this song is so important right now. She feels that strongly that she’s even giving up a percentage of the song’s proceeds to two organizations that help victims of domestic abuse and discrimination.
