3 Female artists who’ve recorded children’s albums

Becoming a parent can melt the heart of anyone. Even tough male rockers like Def Leppard got to that stage at some point and recorded songs that you could play in your nursery without any worry.

Here are 3 female singers who also recorded children’s songs

1) Linda Perry

Known for her 15 minutes of fame as lead singer in the 4 Non Blondes, she went on to become a very famous songwriter responsible for some of hits like “Beautiful” (Christina Aguilera), “Family Portrait” (P!NK) and “Hands of Love” (Miley Cyrus)

Her last project was inspired by her and wife, actress Sara Gilbert, becoming parents to a son. The both of them recorded an album called “Deer Songs

2) Jewel

When Jewel became a mother, the ever open to try something different, Jewel tried her hand at making music for children. She released an album full called “The Merry Goes ‘Round” and even performed with the songs.

More recently, she’s returned to her mature audience again with a new album

3) Lisa Loeb

One hit wonder to most, Lisa Loeb, broke through in the 90s with a folk song called “Stay”. Fame quickly faded for her and her Nine Stories band.

Then Lisa became a mother and she switched to singing children’s songs. She’s released various children’s albums. “Nursery Rhyme Parade” (pictured right) is her latest release.
