All Saints announce new single and album

Published January 28th 2016

UK all female R&B group, All Saints, were a serious competitor to the Spice Girls back in the day. A little more edgier, the girls offered a great alternative to the pop group.

All Saints Have Come Back Before

Rumors of a comeback have emerged many times over the years. In 2014 they started performing as a special guest to the Backstreet Boys and a return was announced for 2015, but the group never returned as planned. It would’ve been their second attempt.

The group briefly reunited in 2006 and released the album “Studio 1”, featuring “Rock Steady” and “Chick Fit”, for which videos were made.

Strike One

Now, they’ve announced their first official comeback single. The track “Strike One” is another song the group has written themselves and tells the story of Nicole Appleton’s divorce from Liam Gallagher, even though Shazney Lewis wrote the song.

The single will be released on February 26th, 2016 and will be followed by an album, titled “Red Flag”, released on April 8th.

What You Could Know Them From

All Saints are known for their sweet, very girlie, vocals over an edgy R&B, Hip Hop beat, sometimes even combining elements of rock music. Their biggest hits include “Never Ever” and covers of Red Hot Chili Peppers “Under The Bridge” and Patti Labelle’s “Lady Marmelade”. Shaznay Lewis tried to pursue a solo career after All Saints originally split in 2001. All Saints have sold over 11 million albums.
