Adam Levine and Dave Stewart start talent search for Songland

Published February 23rd 2016

Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and former Eurythmics member, Dave Stewart, had announced plans for a new TV show sometime last year.

In collaboration with the producer of The Voice, they have developed a new talent show to give upcoming songwriters the opportunity to hit the big time.

Songland

Songland could be NBC’s next big hit, but is it yours too?

The Pitch Of A Lifetime

In the show, called Songland, songwriters will be able to pitch their self penned, original songs to the biggest names in the music business. This could be popular producers as well as popular artists. All of which in need of new songs for themselves or for the artists they represent.

In comparison to other talent shows, the show is finally going to shine a light on the people behind the stars.

Looking For Talent

After having done a succesful pilot last year, the show is now definitely set to hit the small screens. This means the search for candidates is on.

Casting

Currently, the show is looking for songwriters and producers in all genres. If you live in the States and want to be considered, you need to send a song (or two) and explain why you think you are the next big songwriter in the business. They are looking for originality, big hooks, great melodies and even better arrangements.

There are various places for you to submit your work. You can do this through their official casting website or respond to the opportunity at ReverbNation. Even though it’s free to respond to the opportunity there, an EPK is required, which requires a paid ReverbNation subscription.

Like some others, you can also upload your submission to YouTube with the mention of “NBC Songland”, but I haven’t found any confirmation if that’s the correct path to follow, so please check out their official casting site for the correct instructions.

NBC will be broadcasting the show.
