The Story of The Song
The lyrics are about a woman, who’s still putting her ideas of men in relationships together. Hurt by the divorce of her parents at age 5, Kelly is still struggling with the backlash of her parents divorce. Like many people from broken homes, she’s still trying to piece together how relationships work as an adult and facing their fear to fully trust someone. She describes it, like no other in these lyrics.
