Hilary Duff Is Turning A New Page

Hilary Duff review

Hilary Duff has recently released an EDM cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Little Lies”. Big mistake. Just when I thought she was really on to something with the Kylie Minogue sound-alike, “Sparks”, and the catchy, “My Kind”, she goes and covers one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs.

The crazy thing about her cover is that I actually like the music of it. If she’d chosen to sing something else on it, I think it could’ve turned me into a bit of a fan. The music actually reveals a more underground, edgier dance sound than any of her other tracks.

Altogether, Hilary Duff is not exactly an artist who has remained in one genre. Even though she stays safely in the comfort zone of mainstream pop, she has jumped from a teeny pop sound to the Natalie Imbruglia type of pop rock, to dance-pop, but ‘Little Lies’ is a pretty heavy bassed dance track. Without any pop mixture to it.
