Goldfrapp

Goldfrapp blog

It’s not all that often that I let a famous artist direct my attention to the music they like, but when you have deadlines to meet, very little time, and in need of blog topics, you are vulnerable. So, when Adam Lambert shared on Instagram that he was totally into the new Goldfrapp album, I thought I’d give it a go. I’d been hearing about for a few days, but his post was the push to press play on “Silver Eye”.

I don’t know why, but I was expected something like LaRouge, but this is so much better. It’s not what you would probably expect me to like, but it’s electronic and it’s got pretty dreamy vocals, on some tracks. They might not be radio songs, but I love them for what they are.

The tracks never seem to go all out into an outburst of explosive energy, but they just take you places gradually, so they are not ever dull or monotone. No wonder various people had been blogging about this album and I think Adam Lambert had a good point with his post.
