Imagine you’re growing up in a musical family. Your dad is a songwriter and you see your brother’s R&B group, KéShaw, achieve the one thing no other Dutch act had ever achieved before: Getting signed to Motown in The States. To the outside, it’s no surprise, that you would discover some musical talent of your own.
This is the story of Brace. At age 16, after his dad passed away, he decided to ditch school and concentrate on his music career. A talent show, combined with the rise of the Dutch R&B/Hip Hop scene, aligned all the planets correctly and got him in the right place, at the right time.
At age 18, his first featuring, “Moppie”, got him in the charts and he quickly became one of the frequently asked singers to appear on rap songs.
