Usher releases powerful “Chains” single

Yesterday, Usher released ‘Chains’ featuring Nas and Bibi Bourelly. The track in itself is a powerful message to address police brutality, but the interactive video released on Tidal, empowers the message even more. The video shows the faces of innocent black Americans, who were in the prime of their lives, but were killed in incidents of racial injustice.

I was actually in the States when Trayvon Martin was shot. The details surrounding his death were emerging, while I was there and I continued to follow his story when I returned home. Because I was there, in the States, when it all happened really left an impression on me and made me never forget this.

Usher is so right to use his music to deal with issues like this and I have a lot of respect for him, as I would for anyone who tries to better the world and remove racial injustice.

Tidal will ask you to grant access to your webcam. I’d advice you to do this. The video will stop every time you’ll turn your eyes away.
