Pink is the new ambassador for UNICEF

At first glance, you might not think of pop rock singer Pink to be a spokeswoman for a charity, but Pink has just been named the new ambassador for UNICEF.

A trip with the organisation to Haiti heavily affected the singer. After seeing child malnourishment there, she was all too happy to team up with UNICEF long term.

She announced her role last Monday on Good Morning America, where she kickef off her first campaign, “Kid Power”. The campaign allows kids in the States to collect food packets with their activity.

With the Power Band, a bracelet that kids can wear, their activity is measured. While a certain amount of steps already unlocks food packets, kids can earn more points doing special missioons. The more points the children in the States collect, the more kids elsewhere have a chance at life.
