Michael Jackson “Off The Wall” to be reissued

To make certain the world never forgets the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, a reissue of the album “Off The Wall” be released on February 26th, 2016.

The new version contains an extra DVD featuring Spike Lee’s documentary “Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall”, about Michael’s early years as a solo artist. The documentary will debut at the Sundance Film Festival on January 24th and on TV on February 5th, 9 pm on Showtime.

It’s unknown, at this time, if the album itself will feature new material, remastered versions or remixes. Of course, the album features all the original hits “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”, “Rock with You”, “Off The Wall” and the ballad “she’s Out Of My Life”. It’s the first album in which Jackson parted with Motown’s sound and started shaping himself as the solo artist who would turn into a musical hero to many.

The original version of “Off The Wall” has sold over 20 million copies to date. The album had been reissued before, in 2001.

Spike Lee has previously accompanied the 25th anniversary reissue of Michael Jackson’s “Bad” with a documentary.
