Beyoncé put her mark on the weekend, last weekend. Even though the whole world was mourning Prince, Beyoncé managed to distract us all with the HBO documentary special, “Lemonade”, and the release of the album.
After months of rumors that the singer was shooting videos and shaking up her management team, it was clear something was about to happen, at any time. Our radars were on high alert to expect the unexpected.

Last week, a series of trailers were released to promote a special on HBO. “Lemonade” showed all the videos to all the tracks. Some videos contained some powerful statements, not just about the #blacklivesmatter movement, but also on a very personal level for the singer.
It’s enough material to keep the press talking about her, without her having to talk to the press. Very smart. Also, music peers are talking about her work and most of them call it a masterpiece.

Musically, Beyoncé is already known to being fierce, but some songs have taking it even a step further. This time, she’s incorporated a little bit of rock into the mix.
As usual, she’s showing off all the sides of her personality, from sensitive to hard core girl power, from witty to serious. Beyoncé’s surprises clearly never fail to disappoint.
While the videos were showing on television, the album was dropped to Tidal and to avoid the drama of Kanye West’s “Life Of Pablo” and Rihanna’s “Anti” debuts on the platform – leading to no sales for the charts – the album has also become available on iTunes today, a day later.
