It’s not usual for me to write about classical singers, simply because it’s not my cup of tea. I think, like many pop music fans, I can just about get through “Barcelonabecause it features Freddie Mercury. Oddly enough, I am getting into some classical music, slowly, but still. So who knows, maybe I’ll grow a liking to the singing as well.

And perhaps, Andrea Bocelli’s new album will become my turning point. His new album, due for release October 23rd, will feature all his favorite movie songs. The album “Cinema” will feature English, Italian, French and Spanish versions of the songs.

Film scores have always been influenced by classical music and my curiosity is peaked enough to want to know what Andrea Bocelli will do with the songs.

Songs from movies like Evita, Scent Of A Woman, West Side Story, The Phantom Of The Opera and Breakfast at Tiffany’s are included on the album.

Bocelli has often worked with pop artists (Celine Dion for instance) and, on this album, he’s attempting to appeal to a younger audience with appearances by Ariana Grande and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

I’ll give it a go on Spotify when it’s out. What about you?
